Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven or Heat Oil
For Baking/Air Frying : Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) .
For Pan-Frying : Heat about 1/4 inch of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Step 2: Prepare the Coating
Place the crushed Ritz crackers in a shallow bowl. Stir in the Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, paprika, pepper, and salt (if using). Mix well.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk (if using) to create an egg wash.
Step 3: Coat the Chicken
Pat the chicken dry with paper towels to ensure the coating sticks well.
Dip each piece of chicken into the egg wash, letting any excess drip off.
Press the chicken firmly into the Ritz cracker mixture, ensuring it’s evenly coated on all sides.
Step 4: Cook the Chicken
. For Baking :
Place the coated chicken on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a wire rack.
Lightly spray or brush the tops with cooking spray, olive oil, or melted butter for extra crispiness.
Bake for 20–25 minutes , flipping halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C ).
. For Air Frying :
Arrange the chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between pieces.
Lightly spray the tops with cooking spray or brush with oil.
Air fry for 10–12 minutes , flipping halfway, until golden and cooked through.
. For Pan-Frying :
Carefully place the coated chicken in the hot oil. Fry for 3–4 minutes per side , or until golden brown and cooked through.
Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Step 5: Serve and Enjoy
Let the chicken rest for 2–3 minutes before serving.
Serve with your favorite dipping sauces like honey mustard, ranch, or barbecue sauce. Pair with sides like mashed potatoes, coleslaw, or steamed veggies.
